People actually voted for Miami? They replaced Jae Crowder and Derrick Jones Jr. with Mo Harkless and re-signed the rest of their guys. Sounds like a downgrade to me.

Where's the option for the Sixers. They shed two terrible contracts and have added shooters which is something they desperately needed.

People really slept on the Suns.

MIA had a -3.9pts difference on 100 poss. with/without Crowder, and -6.5pts for Jones Jr., so it's not a drama ;-)
Their main problem last season was having big injuries at the worst moment, so they were better than what we saw, but to avoid injuries, they may need more depth... but like already said, they also added Avery Bradley and picked Achiuwa

Getting Bradley, Harkless, and Achiuwa but losing Crowder and Jones Jr. (and Solomon Hill lmfao) is an overall upgrade, yeah. But definitely not enough to put them in consideration for having the best offseason, especially since they just overpaid the hell out of Goran and Meyers.

Philly dumped Horford's contract and got multiple shooters. The Lakers got the top 2 6MOTY candidates, Wesley Matthews, and Marc Gasol. The Hawks signed half the free agency pool. Portland's starting 5 and bench took significant upgrades. The Bucks got Jrue and a solid bench. The Suns got Chris Paul (and Jae Crowder).

Getting Bradley, Harkless, and Achiuwa isn't close to enough to be top five, let alone number one.

I agree, but it's just the way the votes are counted that is not making sense. You should be able to vote for several teams in order. Here, it's just "who is the top team?", and in that way, MIA should not get any votes, but if you voted for the 10 best teams with order, they should get some points

I really like what the Pelicans, Hawks and Suns have done in the off-season, all three should make the playoffs next season..

On the opposite side of the spectrum is OKC and their horrific fire sale, anyone think they win more than 10 games next year?

That is probably what they are hoping for. They have stockpiled so many assets, they likely want rid of all big contracts so that they can build a roster of affordadable young assets, develop them and then use some or all of them to build a contender a few years down the road.

My vote is for Suns. They made solid moves and I’m really looking forward to see what will they do.
