What grade do you give the Knicks for their trade of Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo for Karl-Anthony Towns?

Towns is clearly a tier above Randle so giving up a protected 1st and a rotation guard to make the deal happen is a no brainer.

better fit in the offense too and randle wasn't a good defender either (same as KAT isn't)

This is very Knicks trade indeed... Getting the shiny trinket (KAT) instead of building up your own assets... Trying to find a shortcut somewhere somehow.

It is not a horrible trade, but it reminds me a lot of what the Knicks kept doing again and again in the 00's... I just hope KAT is not as washed up as the players the Knicks kept on betting on in 00's.
