While many U.S. sports leagues are pushing to play more games internationally, the Premier League is not looking to reciprocate in the United States.
Premier League chief football officer Tony Scholes said Tuesday there is “no interest in playing [regular-season] games abroad.”
LaLiga has long sought to play matches in the United States to expand its reach where the Premier League is highly popular.
“We don’t feel the need to come play in the U.S. during the season proper, and you’ll understand the challenges that would present in the U.K. as well,” Scholes said.
