Manchester United is considering resting Wayne Rooney for the remainder of the season as he recovers from a chipped bone in his toe.
Rooney needed to have a pain-killing injection to play in the Champions League on Wednesday.
United is currently mid-table and have just five games remaining, which makes risking him for the World Cup a sound proposition.
