Van Gaal: City Still Way Behind United's Legacy

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Nov 1, 2014 11:09 pm

While Manchester City has won the Premier League in two of the past three seasons and are widely considered a better than club right now than Manchester United, Louis van Gaal says they still have a long ways to go to catch up.

United play City in the 168th Manchester derby on Sunday.

Van Gaal said: “Abroad we have more fans and followers on social media. Also Bayern Munich is the biggest club of Germany. The same thing for Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain. It [would take] a long time for Manchester City to reach that level.”

Pellegrini said: “If you just go by the success of the last years, this team won two of the last three titles and we were runners-up in the other. Manchester United have a lot of stories of winning an important amount of titles. Maybe football is in the present and I think in the last two or three years, this team has done better.”

The directions in which the two teams have been going over the last couple of years it won't be too, too long until City catch up to that legacy...unless LVG can turn things around for the better.
