Bayern Munich has ruled out pursuing a transfer for Lionel Messi.
"Messi and Barcelona are like a marriage for a lifetime. They should not be separated from each other, just like Bayern and [Philipp] Lahm," Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.
"I know those in charge at Barcelona pretty well, they will never sell him. He has a €250 million release clause. Messi has to stay at Barcelona."
Messi has been linked to a move to the Premier League, while Bayern could potentially afford him and provide an opportunity to reunite with Pep Guardiola.
