Arsenal, Liverpool Interested In 'New

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Mar 19, 2014 3:11 pm

Hamburg attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been linked to Arsenal.

Calhanoglu is frequently compared to Mesut Özil, who came to Arsenal in the summer on an expensive transfer from Real Madrid.

Calhanoglu has a 7.29 WhoScored rating in 24 Bundesliga appearances this season (5th on Hamburg), with eight goals and two assists.

Hamburg would demand around £15 million for a Calhanoglu transfer.

Liverpool is also interested in Calhanoglu.

Other than they are both Turkish and play the same position these two players are not comparable at all.

I'm sure Özil wishes to have the shot technique Calhanoglu has, though, lol.

He hasn't even finished his first Bundesliga season yet.
His long shots/free kicks are awesome. There is still a lot of room for improvement especially on defense, passing.
He is very inconsistent and would have little chance of making Arsenal or Liverpools starting XI's for at least a year. Staying in Hamburg is the best option for him.

I don't know whether he is invisible or not in big games. Hamburg is not in a position where they play big games. Only relegation battles.
