Atlanta To Receive MLS Expansion Franchise

The MLS is expanding to Atlanta with an announcement scheduled for April 16.
Atlanta would become the 22nd franchise in the MLS and would open play in 2017.
Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL, has been pursuing a franchise for several years.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber has said many times that he wants his league to reach 24 teams by 2020.
