United Was As Lucky As Good In Ferguson's Final Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Apr 23, 2014 11:11 pm

Alex Ferguson had become more lucky as manager of Manchester United during his final season despite winning the Premier League, making the job of David Moyes more difficult.

United ranked eighth in the Premier League in proportion of shots and seventh in proportion of shots on target last season. United, however, led the league in shooting percentage and fourth in save percentage. The performance didn't predict continued success in 13-14.

United won the league by 11 points over Manchester City last season. It also had 12 more points than expected based on its goals scored and allowed.

This season, it's getting about as many points as expected based on goal differential.
