Wayne Rooney is rumored to have suffered a recurrence of the toe injury he suffered last month.
Other reports claim Rooney merely left Manchester United's training grounds due to a stomach bug.
But it is believed that Rooney has undergone a scan on the injury that will put his World Cup chances for England in peril.
Rooney has endured a troubled few months with nagging injury problems, but he has still played 27 Premier League games for United this season and scored an impressive total of 17 goals for what has been a struggling team.
