Luis Suárez was asked about his comments following Uruguay's defeat of England last week in which he referenced the criticism he received.
"I didn't want to attack anyone, but the media in England made fun of me," said Suárez.
Suárez has been linked to a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid this offseason.
"It is the right time for a change," his father-in-law Gustalvo Balbi told La Sexta.
"He has nothing left to prove in England. The best solution would be if he were to go to Spain.
"We would like to have them close to us in Spain [with Barcelona] but it does not matter which team he signs for. He would do very well over here."
