David Silva Believes Spain Shouldn't Change Style

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Sep 6, 2014 5:54 pm

David Silva believes Spain needs to change personnel rather than adjust their entire style of play.

“Our success is based on having possession of the ball and that’s how we’ll carry on. With this style Spain has won two European Championships and a World Cup. I don’t feel there’s any need to change it," said Silva.

“There are some of us here, like Cesc, Iniesta and Cazorla, amongst others, who know what this national team has achieved playing the way we do. The new players will adapt, will improve with possession and the precision of their passing.

“There’s a lot of new people in the squad and we’re still putting all the pieces together, but that’s the way forward for us now. There’s some very important players who are no longer with us, but those of us who are here now are important and those who are coming in are too.”
