MLS Cup Viewership Increases By 91 Percent Over Last Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Dec 9, 2014 10:59 pm

The 2014 MLS Cup on ESPN increased by 91 percent compared to last year’s MLS Cup. An average viewing audience of 964,000 tuned in to watch LA Galaxy defeat New England Revolution 2-1 in the 120 minute match.

The average viewing audience for the 2013 MLS Cup was 505,000.

While the 2014 MLS Cup percentage increase is impressive and was better than the viewing audience for the 2010 MLS Cup (748,000 viewers), it failed to beat the 2011 MLS Cup viewing audience of 1.03 million.

The match also figured to get a bigger draw due to it being Landon Donovan's final appearance.
