Jorge Mendes believes Cristiano Ronaldo should be credited with the turnaround of Real Madrid.
In a recent interview Globoesporte, super agent Mendes spoke about Cristiano as the “best in the history of football” and stated that “it’ll be impossible for anyone to match him in the future. The difference between him and the second best is abysmal.”
Mendes even went on to add that Real Madrid could very well end up retiring Cristiano’s ‘7’ shirt when he retires, an unprecedented move for a club like Real Madrid.
“I suppose they could. With respect to players that were great like Raúl or Di Stefano, there is no comparison with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Cristiano Ronaldo began Real Madrid’s transformation, it wasn’t like it is now five or six years ago. There was no Barcelona, who the entire world considered the best team in the world.
“He’ll stay with Real Madrid for a long time because he still has a lot of things we wants to accomplish with the club.”
