Víctor Valdés is set to join Manchester United on a minimum 18-month contract, and will be signed as a second-choice goalkeeper in order to provide cover for David De Gea.
Valdés previously worked with Louis van Gaal at Barcelona.
The 32-year-old Spaniard has been completing his rehabilitation at Manchester United from a serious knee injury.
