Newell's Old Boys have announced that Roma have secured the services of Ezequiel Ponce for an undisclosed fee, although the forward will remain at his current club until the end of 2015 before joining his new team.
Tottenham was also interested in the 17-year-old striker.
Ponce has gone on to find the back of the net four times in 18 league matches since his debut.
