Manchester City is not interested in pursuing Jürgen Klopp as manager if they decide to fire Manuel Pellegrini.
Klopp was immediately installed as the bookmakers' favorite to take over at the Etihad Stadium when he announced on Wednesday that he will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola is widely believed to be City's preferred choice as manager.
Carlo Ancelotti, Napoli's Rafa Benitez and City's under-21 coach Patrick Vieira have all been tipped as potential successors to Pellegrini. Diego Simeone is not thought to be of interest to City.
Klopp speaks fluent English and has also been linked to Arsenal.
