West Bromwich Albion rejected an offer from Tottenham for Saido Berahino on the final day of the transfer window.
Spurs had already had offers worth £18 million and £22 million for Berahino turned down, and it emerged that one of the packages had been structured around payments of £3.5 million each year for five years, which had served to infuriate West Brom and their chairman, Jeremy Peace.
Berahino has vowed to never play for West Brom again as he had handed in a transfer request.
