Rafael Benitez is tempted to remain with Newcastle and help them back to promotion next season with their relegation down to the Championship.
Benitez had assurances when he agreed to join Newcastle that he could walk away if they were relegated.
Newcastle are understood to be willing to dismantle their failed management model and offer Benitez the sort of control denied to Steve McClaren and Alan Pardew.
Benitez began the season with Real Madrid and was fired in January.
