Gareth Bale and Real Madrid are negotiating a contract extension.
Bale is seeking around €17 million ($19 million) per season.
Sergio Ramos earns €10 million and had a very controversial negotiation a year ago. Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player earning more than Ramos, so signing Bale to that €17 million contract could be problematic as other players could ask for a significant raise shortly after.
Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil both recently left Real Madrid after their agents sought improved deals.
