Clint Dempsey has signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Sounders.
Dempsey's new contract will give the Sounders additional salary flexibility. Dempsey, however, will remain a designated player for the Sounders.
Last month it was reported Dempsey had signed a one-year deal worth between $1.5-2 million. According to the MLS Players' Union, Dempsey earned $3.89m in guaranteed compensation in 2017.
