United Moves Ahead Of City In Pursuit Of Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United has moved ahead of Manchester City in pursuit of Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez did not travel to Arsenal's match on Sunday at Bournemouth. 

Sanchez had looked certain to join City both in the summer and then again at the start of the January transfer window.

Arsenal are interested in taking Henrikh Mkhitaryan from United, who they wanted in the summer of 2016 when he was leaving Borussia Dortmund.

I think this would be a win-win situation, for Sanchez to go to United with Mkhitaryan as a makeweight. Alexis is in the final year of his contract, so Arsenal has overplayed their hand if they were expecting a mammoth offer. Since Ozil seems likely to leave as well, Henrikh's playmaking from a wide position could fill the gap for both outgoing stars. Alexis is very vain and a poor locker-room leader, but tireless and a true difference-maker. Sounds alot like Mourinho! His arrival could slow the development of youngsters like Lingard and even Martial, but they need to upgrade their attack to stay in the top 4.

Maybe add 15mil Euros and call it done!
