Arsene Wenger Announces He Will Step Down As Manager Of Arsenal

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Apr 20, 2018 1:03 pm

Arsene Wenger has announced he will step down as manager of Arsenal at the end of the season.

Wenger was reportedly mindful of the possibility of being fired as Stan Kroenke and others had grown increasingly concerned by the club's performance.

Wenger has felt the pressure from board-room level, although there was still the sense of shock among the playing squad when he informed them before training on Friday morning.

Arsenal have been linked with a number of names, including Carlo Ancelotti, Luis Enrique, Leonardo Jardim, Max Allegri and Patrick Vieira.

Wenger won three Premier League titles with the club during his 22 seasons.

“After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season," said Wenger. "I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years.

“I managed the club with full commitment and integrity. I want to thank the staff, the players, the directors and the fans who make this club so special. I urge our fans to stand behind the team to finish on a high. To all the Arsenal lovers take care of the values of the club. My love and support for ever.”
