Inter and Inter Miami are locked in a legal dispute over the name and logo of the MLS franchise.
Inter filed a US Patent and Trademark application over the \"Inter\" brand in 2014. MLS and Inter Miami have filed a claim of opposition.
“Because of the widespread use of the term ‘Inter’ in soccer, the relevant consumers do not associate the term ‘Inter’ with one soccer team; ‘Inter’ by itself is not a source indicator in connection with goods and services associated with soccer,” claims the MLS side.
The case is expected to be resolved in early May.
