Derby County are interested in naming Wayne Rooney as a player-coach.
Rooney, who is signed with DC United through the 2021 season, spoke of his desire to get into coaching.
\"It\'s something which I want to stay involved in; [my coaching badges] are going well. I\'m obviously still a player and I want to continue to play. When the time is right I can go into coaching or management,\" said Rooney.
Derby County\'s current manager Philip Cocu replaced Frank Lampard as manager.
