Lionel Messi has revealed he will remain at Barcelona, choosing to stay with the club he\'s played for during his entire professional career rather than move forward with a legal battle.
Messi informed Barcelona in writing that he would exercise a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave the club unilaterally.
Messi will be allowed to leave Barcelona in 2021 on a free transfer.
Manchester City was considered the favorites to sign Messi if he won his freedom.
