Arsenal has laid off mascot Gunnersaurus in a cost-cutting move.

Jerry Quy, who has played the mascot since its introduction in 1993, worked part-time for the club.

Quy will be allowed to return to the role of mascot when fans return to games.

Arsenal previously laid off 55 employees across all departments in August.

Arsenal\'s business model relies heavily on matchday income from Emirates Stadium.
