Messi scored a free-kick goal in stoppage time to give Inter Miami a 2-1 win over Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
\"What I saw was the goal. I knew that I had to score with the last play of the game. It was very important to get this win. It gives us confidence moving forward,\" said Messi.
Messi signed a 2½-year contract with Inter Miami that will pay him between $50 million and $60 million annually.
