Spain defeated England 2-1 to win their record fourth European Championship title.
Spain dominated possession in the first half but were unable to capitalize with a goal and lost Rodri to injury at halftime, but they scored in the 47th minute when Nico Williams converted a perfect pass across the penalty box from Lamine Yamal.
Spain looked set to play keep away from England and let time run out, but Cole Palmer scored in the 73rd minute following a build up from Bukyao Saka and Jude Bellingham. England had all the momentum as the match appeared destined for extra time at the very least, but an initially innocuous looking attack from Spain became a goal for Mikel Oyarzabal as he scored off a Marc Cucurella cross. Oyarzabal was on side by the knee of John Stones in front of him.
England has lost each of the past two Euro finals and hasn\'t won a major championship in nearly 60 years since the 1966 World Cup. England will host the 2028 Euro.
