Eddie Howe, Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel are among the leading candidates to become the next manager of England if Gareth Southgate exits his post. Southgate has not made a final decision on his future and the Football Association are hopeful he will stay through the 2026 World Cup. Southgate\'s contract expires in December. Southgate is thought to be paid about £5 million a year, which is at the lower end of Premier League managers salaries.
Other candidates are likely to include the former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, Lee Carsley, the England Under-21 manager, and the former England internationals Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.
Southgate received criticism for some of his tactics as well as his decision to continue playing Harry Kane despite his disappointing form throughout the tournament.
