The United States has hired Mauricio Pochettino as manager as he will guide the team into the 2026 World Cup in North America. Pochettino has been without a job since leaving Chelsea by mutual consent earlier this summer after just one season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino will replace Gregg Berhalter in the role.

Pochettino\'s financial situation with Chelsea remains unresolved. He is owed money by the Premier League club and until a resolution is found he cannot sign a contract to take over the USMNT. Pochettino had also been under consideration as a possible candidate to replace Gareth Southgate as England manager.
