Chelsea In Talks To Leave Stamford Bridge For Stadium At Earls Court

Chelsea have held talks over leaving Stamford Bridge and moving to Earls Court as ownership seeks a venue with a bigger capacity than their existing 42,000 stadium.
Chelsea have not ruled out staying put but there has been no progress in any plans to redevelop Stamford Bridge. If they were to demolish and then rebuild Stamford Bridge, they could play at Wembley Stadium in the interim.
Complicating the situation is the current in-fighting amongst its ownership group. Clearlake Capital, the majority shareholder, and Todd Boehly have fallen out and are looking at ways to buy each other out.
