Pep Guardiola admitted Kevin De Bruyne\'s age will play a factor in whether Manchester City extend him to a new contract and that the club have to \"think\" about whether it is the right thing to do.
De Bruyne turns 34 in June and his contract expires in June. De Bruyne has struggled with injuries the past two seasons.
\"He had problems in the last year and a half, like many players this year,\" Guardiola said. \"Of course, when he is consistent and fit and can play regularly, I\'ve said many times he\'s a really important player for us and a decisive player.
\"What is going to happen, how he is going to perform until the end of the season, the age that he is and many things, I think the club has to think about it.\"
De Bruyne has been linked with the Saudi league, as well as the new MLS club in San Diego. De Bruyne has a WhoScored rating of 7.02 in 736 Premier League minutes this season compared to 7.60 in 23-25 and 7.58 in 22-23.
