Luis Enrique\'s PSG Rebuild Ahead Of Schedule

Paris Saint-Germain has secured their 13th French league title under Luis Enrique\'s leadership, remaining unbeaten with six games left in the season. The achievement marks a significant milestone in Enrique\'s rebuilding project, which began just eight months ago following Kylian Mbappé\'s departure.

\"I am not here to win the Champions League. I am here to build a team,\" said Enrique last summer.

This philosophy represented a dramatic shift for a club historically centered around superstar players. The Spanish manager privately predicted his revamp would take two years to reach desired levels, but the team\'s development has accelerated beyond expectations. After PSG\'s title-clinching 1-0 victory, Angers manager Alexandre Dujeux remarked: \"I think they make a very beautiful champion. Everyone attacks; everyone defends. I enjoy when I see this. I find it fantastic.\"

Enrique\'s tenure has effectively spanned three distinct phases: first working with Mbappé while trying to instill team-oriented values, then focusing on tactical implementation after the star\'s departure, and finally seeing his vision come to fruition since January 2025.

The turning point came in December when Ousmane Dembélé was repositioned as center-forward. This tactical adjustment sparked a transformation, with PSG subsequently dominating opponents including Manchester City (4-2) and VfB Stuttgart (4-1) in Champions League play.

PSG\'s current squad reflects Enrique\'s philosophy of collective effort over individual stardom. Defensive solidity has improved with Willian Pacho\'s integration, while the midfield trio of Vitinha, João Neves and Fabián Ruiz has proven that technical quality can overcome physical limitations.

The attack has flourished with contributions from multiple players. Dembélé leads with 32 goals and 7 assists across all competitions, supported by Bradley Barcola (18 goals, 15 assists), Désiré Doué (11 goals, 11 assists), and January signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Their most impressive performances came against Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16, where PSG dominated the Premier League side over two legs with 48 shots to Liverpool\'s 21 and significantly higher expected goals.

With the league title secured, PSG now faces Aston Villa in the Champions League quarterfinals, where Enrique\'s rebuilt squad will look to continue their impressive European campaign.

\"If I fail, it will be with my ideas. I will continue to follow them. I am getting there,\" Enrique stated in November, a sentiment that has proven prophetic given PSG\'s current success.
