Barcelona secured their third trophy of the season on Thursday after defeating city rivals Espanyol 2-0 to clinch the LaLiga title. Seventeen-year-old phenom Lamine Yamal opened the scoring with a spectacular left-footed strike from outside the box.

The victory puts Barcelona seven points clear of Real Madrid with just two games remaining, completing a domestic treble in coach Hansi Flick\'s first season. Barcelona had previously won the Copa del Rey and Spanish Supercopa, defeating Madrid in both finals.

Barcelona\'s Young Star Focused On Future Success

\"It\'s a dream come true,\" Yamal told ESPN after the match. \"Winning LaLiga with Barca is incredible, but this is just the beginning of what we want to achieve. The message to supporters is this is just getting started.\"

\"It\'s impossible to tire of winning. I have it permanently on my mind.\"

Despite comparisons to legends like Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Ronaldinho, Yamal emphasized his desire to forge his own legacy at the club.

\"The objective is to achieve my own success. I want to be myself, write my own story and be my own player. I don\'t look at other players. Of course I would love to have that level of success, Messi is incredible, for me the greatest ever, but I want to have my own career.\"

Barcelona president Joan Laporta praised Yamal\'s impact, calling him \"one of the chosen few who will have a truly unique career in this game.\" Laporta also confirmed that an agreement is in place to extend Flick\'s contract, which currently runs until 2026.
