Liverpool have emerged as the favorites to sign Florian Wirtz after having a new round of talks over the past few days. Bayern Munich is the other club remaining in pursuit of Wirtz after Manchester City moved on to other targets.
Bayer Leverkusen has preferred to sell Wirtz to a club beyond the Bundesliga.
Wirtz, who just turned 22 years old, has 22 goals and 16 assists across 59 appearances in all competitions this season for Leverkusen and Germany.
According to TransferMarkt, Wirtz is the seventh most valuable player in the world at a valuation of approximately $152 million.
