United Submits $61M Bid To Brentford For Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United have made their first formal approach for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, submitting a £45 million ($61 million) bid plus £10 million in add-ons for the Cameroon international. The offer falls short of Brentford\'s valuation, but negotiations remain active as United pursue attacking reinforcements under head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Athletic previously reported United\'s interest in the 25-year-old, who has expressed desire to join the Old Trafford club. Mbeumo has one year remaining on his Brentford contract with an optional 12-month extension.

Mbeumo enjoyed his most productive campaign in 2024-25, registering 20 goals and eight assists as Brentford secured a 10th-place Premier League finish. The versatile attacker can operate across the front line, providing tactical flexibility for potential suitors.

Since joining from French club Troyes in 2019, Mbeumo has made 242 appearances for Brentford, scoring 70 goals and providing 51 assists. He has earned 18 caps for Cameroon, netting four international goals.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has acknowledged the club\'s willingness to sell if their asking price is met.

\"If the right price — and that\'s going to be expensive — is coming, then I\'m sure the club will be open to it,\" Frank told Sky Sports last month.

United\'s pursuit of attacking talent follows a disappointing goal tally of just 44 league goals last season, the second-worst among non-relegated teams. The club has already secured Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and previously showed interest in Ipswich Town\'s Liam Delap before he joined Chelsea.
