Leroy Sane is set to leave Bayern Munich for Galatasaray as his contract expires at the end of June. The 29-year-old Germany international has reached a broad agreement on a three-year deal worth up to $17 million per year net.
Arsenal were strong contenders for Sane\'s signature but the winger preferred an immediate resolution. Al Hilal and Fenerbahce also showed interest in the former Manchester City player.
Bayern Munich Career Comes to End
Sane joined Bayern in 2020 for an initial $56.2 million from Manchester City, returning to the Bundesliga after four successful seasons in England. He won three consecutive Bundesliga titles with Bayern before Bayer Leverkusen claimed the championship last season.
The versatile winger recorded 61 goals and 55 assists in 220 matches across five seasons at Bayern. He played under four different head coaches during his tenure, including Hansi Flick, Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel, and most recently Vincent Kompany.
During the 2024-25 campaign, Sane contributed 13 goals and six assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. However, only 25 of those were starts, suggesting his role had diminished under the club\'s latest tactical setup.
The move to Galatasaray represents a fresh challenge for Sane, who previously won two Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
