Pep Guardiola suggested his disappointing season with Manchester City would have led to his dismissal had he posted similar results as manager of Barcelona or Real Madrid. City finished third in the Premier League and were also eliminated early in the Champions League and Carabao Cup. City wrapped up their season with a surprising defeat in the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace.

\"With the year we\'ve had, if this were Spain, I wouldn\'t be coaching in October, November or December,\" Guardiola told DAZN. \"If this were Barça or Madrid, they would have sacked me.

\"But here it wasn\'t even a question. You have to have a little more patience.\"

Guardiola cited the exit of Carlo Ancelotti as manager of Real Madrid just one year after winning both the Champions League and LaLiga.

\"Look at Carlo Ancelotti,\" he added. \"He won the Champions League and LaLiga four days ago and now he\'s off to coach in Brazil.\"
