Matheus Cunha Receives Marcus Rashford\'s No. 10 Jersey With United

Manchester United have given new signing Matheus Cunha the No. 10 shirt previously worn by Marcus Rashford, the Premier League club confirmed Tuesday. The move signals United\'s intent to move forward without the England international who remains sidelined from training.

ESPN reported last week that United stripped Rashford of the number he had worn since 2018. Cunha, who joined from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal, previously wore the No. 10 at Molineux last season.

Rashford has not featured for United since December and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. The 27-year-old forward has been told by club bosses to delay his return to Carrington while seeking a move away from Old Trafford.

Multiple Players Seeking Exits

Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia have also informed United they want to move this summer. All five players have been granted extended breaks to organize transfers but are expected back in July if moves fail to materialize.

Preseason training for the rest of the squad began Monday, with Cunha already wearing the No. 10 in training sessions. Ruben Amorim\'s squad will travel to Chicago for a three-game United States tour on July 22.

Aston Villa decided against making Rashford\'s loan permanent for £40 million. United maintain the same valuation for any interested club this summer, though no firm bids have been received according to sources.

Barcelona Interest Emerges

Sources told ESPN that Rashford\'s representatives hope Barcelona will increase their interest following Nico Williams\' decision to sign a new contract with Athletic Club. Bayern Munich are also seeking a winger and had previously been linked with Williams.

Rashford prefers a move abroad to play Champions League football with three years remaining on his United contract. Sources indicate United will consider season-long loan offers if they can remove a significant portion of his wages from their books.
