Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said he does not expect a busy end to the transfer window despite the club spending over $403 million on summer reinforcements including Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.

The Premier League champions have already completed major signings but face potential departures of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Jarell Quansah. Liverpool have been linked with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

Slot expressed satisfaction with his current squad while remaining open to strategic additions if the right targets become available.

Slot emphasized his happiness with Liverpool\'s existing roster during Thursday\'s press conference while acknowledging the club\'s willingness to improve when possible. Liverpool won the Premier League last season after a quiet summer transfer window.

\"No I don\'t think so because then I would be unhappy with the squad we have and I am very, very happy with the squad we have,\" Slot said when asked about transfer activity. \"Two per position is ideal but I prefer less than more because you have to disappoint so many players every single time.\"

\"I am really happy with the squad but if we think we can improve in a certain position and there is a player available that can really make us better like with Giovanni Leoni then this club has always shown they will bring these players in but only if they are everything we want,\" Slot added.

Liverpool face Newcastle at St. James\' Park on Monday amid ongoing speculation about Isak\'s future. Slot expects a hostile atmosphere but praised Newcastle\'s quality and intensity levels.

The Reds will be without right-back Jeremie Frimpong due to a hamstring injury that will keep him out until after the international break. Conor Bradley returned to training Thursday following his own injury layoff.

\"When you got to Newcastle, you know what to expect,\" Slot said. \"One of the best teams and one of the most difficult teams to face in the league.\"
