Wolverhampton Wanderers rejected Newcastle United\'s $67.5 million offer for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, with Wolves considering the 25-year-old too important to sell this summer.

Wolves\' stance is that any bid for Strand Larsen will be rejected given insufficient time to find a Premier League-ready replacement. The Athletic reported Newcastle\'s straight $67.5 million offer contained no add-ons and followed positive behind-the-scenes discussions between the clubs.

Newcastle view Strand Larsen as a potential replacement for departed Callum Wilson rather than Alexander Isak. Wilson joined West Ham United on a free transfer after his contract expired at St. James\' Park.

The bid represents Newcastle\'s latest attempt to strengthen their attack amid uncertainty over Isak\'s future. The Sweden international has made clear his desire to leave the club this summer.

Strand Larsen has expressed interest in the potential move but is not pressuring Wolves for a departure. The Norwegian striker scored 14 goals with four assists in 34 Premier League appearances last season.

Newcastle have also targeted Brentford\'s Yoane Wissa, but negotiations have proved complex. The Athletic reported Newcastle\'s improved $51.3 million bid for Wissa was rejected by Brentford on August 20.

Other striker targets have slipped away from Newcastle this summer. Benjamin Sesko chose Manchester United over Newcastle despite an agreed deal with RB Leipzig, while Liam Delap and Joao Pedro both joined Chelsea.

Strand Larsen joined Wolves permanently for $31.6 million in July after an initial loan from Celta Vigo. His contract runs until 2029 following Wolves\' decision to lose top scorer Matheus Cunha to Manchester United this summer.
