FIFA Sets Dynamic Pricing For 2026 World Cup, With $60-$6,730 Range

FIFA announced Wednesday that 2026 World Cup tickets will start at $60 for group-stage seats and reach $6,730 for final tickets, with dynamic pricing adjusting costs based on demand. The organization confirmed it will use variable pricing throughout the tournament across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

A FIFA official speaking to reporters on Tuesday confirmed the pricing strategy will adapt costs based on remaining inventory and demand levels. Initial ticket sales through a lottery system begin September 10, with fans able to purchase up to 40 tickets across 10 matches using Visa cards.

The cheapest Category 4 tickets will cost $60, though FIFA has not disclosed what percentage of stadium capacity these seats represent. Officials stated the percentage will \"not be insignificant\" but declined to specify exact numbers for other ticket categories.

Final ticket prices represent a significant increase from the 2022 Qatar World Cup, where Category 1 final tickets cost $1,605. FIFA expects to generate over $3 billion from hospitality and ticket sales across the expanded 104-match tournament.

FIFA will launch its own resale platform for North American buyers without price caps to prevent fans from using unauthorized secondary markets. Chief operating officer Heimo Schrigi explained the strategy aims to maintain a \"safe and secure and regulated environment\" for ticket resales.

\"We will adapt prices as per the demand we see, as per the remaining inventory,\" the FIFA official said.

Mexican fans will face different resale restrictions, limited to face-value transactions on a separate platform due to stricter local regulations. FIFA officials said approximately 1 million tickets will be available in the initial Visa presale phase from the tournament\'s 6 million total capacity.
