Graham Potter faces a potential dismissal as West Ham manager after a 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace extended the club\'s dismal start to the Premier League season.

Sources indicate Potter will be fired unless he inspires swift improvement in results following West Ham\'s position in 18th place. The Hammers have suffered four defeats in their opening five league matches and have already begun identifying potential replacements.

Potter has managed only six wins from 25 games since replacing Julen Lopetegui in January. The former Chelsea manager faced dissent from supporters as West Ham\'s winless home run extended to eight matches at London Stadium.

West Ham have spoken with former Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo about the vacant position. The club is also considering a reunion with Slaven Bilic, while Gary O\'Neil remains open to taking the role.

\"Do I believe I can turn it around? Of course. I also understand it\'s tough,\" Potter said after the defeat. \"We\'re in a tough situation, there\'s no getting away from that.\"

Potter was booed by fans after substituting Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes during the match. The manager acknowledged supporter frustration while maintaining he retained board support.

West Ham\'s defensive problems were highlighted when Jean-Philippe Mateta headed Palace ahead from a corner kick. The goal marked the seventh time this season the Hammers have conceded from set pieces.

Jarrod Bowen equalized for West Ham, but Tyrick Mitchell\'s volley secured victory for Oliver Glasner\'s Palace side. The result lifted Crystal Palace into fourth place in the Premier League table.

\"The results aren\'t good, you have to face it up and you have to ensure that we\'re stronger next week,\" Potter added.
