Tie game against the defending champs!!

sloppy game, but we come home with 4 of the possible 6 points. It feels good!

I did not like the call that resulted in the penalty kick so I feel a tie was fair even though our goal was a complete fluke. GolTV screwed up again today and I missed the goal because they were too busy showing a replay. 4 out of 6 points is a great start for our guys. It is too bad that Frei got hurt though.

Yeah, I hope its nothing too major with Frei. I really wanted him to be the starter all season.

The first game I really got mad at GolTV for cutting to the opposing fans and all that stuff, but now Ive found out that the home team does the coverage. Away teams just get the footage. So you cant really blame them, although thats twice in two games now.

What a lucky tie... I'll take the point though.

Seattle is going to be tough to beat, I can't believe they are the only team sitting with 6 points.

"Mat Sundin is gone, and the Raptors Suck!! Does that make Dwayne DeRosario the biggest superstar of Toronto?"

WTF?! Who is this woman going off and saying something so blatant as that? And she is supposed to be some professional reporter? Im watching an old John Carver interview and some media woman asked this to John Carver. And since this IS RealGM, what do you BBall/Soccer fans think about this? Im glad John Carver shyed away from it, but she seemed really determined to get an proper answer out of him.

See the John Carver Media Scrum (3/17/09) around the 9:00 mark

PS. So now Raptors STAR Chris Bosh has already become an afterthought in Toronto sports culture?

I would think that Halladay would be a bigger star than DeRo.

Thats what I would say. It would have been in this order:
1. Sundin
2/3. Bosh
2/3. Halladay
4. DeRosario

Even if you dont like Baseball or Basketball, you shouldnt deny that these guys are more well known and loved in this city more than DeRo at this point. Unless its some female hockey enthusiast who has no idea what she is talking about.

Seriously? The FC have an extreme fan base, but many of the players on the roster aren't household names.

I'd say average Raptor, Leaf and Jays players are likely more recognized.

The top 5 would go something like this...

1. Curtis Joseph
2. Chris Bosh
3. Roy Halladay
4. Vernon Wells
5. Tomas Kaberle/Andrea Bargnani

Edit- I'm talking about name recognition, not skill.

Since the CBC is cutting back on sports it looks like 4 of the 6 Nutrilite Canadian Championship games will be picked up by Rogers Sportsnet.

I will be at the game tomorrow. If it does not rain and I manage to get my D-SLR in I will post the pictures. I will be the the Red Patch and hope to get pictures of some characters.

Sweet. A guy from my work is sitting in that section as well. I was in there twice last season. Always a great time.

I got hooked up with some new seats that they put on the field. Can't wait to see what that is like!!

Looks like Monterra (Sp?) on Seatle is in a little hot water right now, and may have had his pasport taken. Works for us!

Go Reds.

Any snow in Toronot this morning? Just two hours out of the city we had about half a foot come down overnight. It would be interesting to see the guys play in the snow.

Also, what was the passport issue? Drug related?

No. He is alleged to be stalking some girl there. The passport thing is just a rumour. The official stance is that he is ill.

We didn't get any snow here. It rained a lot, and it is still cold and windy. I brought lots of layers, but I am thinking of stopping at home before the game to get a winter hat and gloves.

This was very dissapointing. It was freaking cold too. I got my D-SLR in but did not take it out because of the cold. Besides in The Red Patch everyone stands and moves. I did not want to be a extra distraction trying to get a goo shot.

We need a new full back. And you know who needs to go.

The wind took away any chance of a good game, but still a very disappointing result.

Who is that?

We played a bad game, but the Ref completely screwed us out of any momentum we had. Some the calls were disgusting!

I agree, some of the call I just couldn't believe.

I was screaming at my TV at some points because of how bad the referee was.

On a more positive note, Carver spoke of changes in the lineup today.

Im excited. I hope Frei is back in net.

Very good first half.

Im loving Ibarhim down the left. Its his first half as well so he will become more used to his teammates tendencies as time goes on. This has to be a wake up call for Rickettes. You mess up in the EPL, you still have options. You mess the MLS up and your done.

DERO with the first goal! Loved it.

Frei in net is good to see. He is no doubt the number 1 right now and I couldnt agree with that selection more.

You have to feel for Barrett. He is putting himself in all the right situations, but the poor guy just cant finish. As much as I like him, I dont know how much longer he could be on the first team selection without scoring. We do have Vitti and Dichio on the bench.
