Re: Official Toronto FC Thread
reading into it, the more im believing its happening. Sounds like a six month loan. Bradley in MLS is much greater than Dempsey, in my opinion.

Re: Official Toronto FC Thread
If Bradly joins this team, and with another year of growth for Henry and Morgan, TFC will be one of the best sides in the MLS.

Re: Official Toronto FC Thread
Toronto FC is on the verge of a stunning $100 million swoop that will entirely transform the soccer landscape in this city.
They have already secured the services of England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe. He is scheduled to be unveiled at a press conference on Monday.
That rumour was around for months as the club worked to convince the player he would thrive here, and to reassure his EPL team that they could afford to let him go.
In a far more shocking turn, they are also in final negotiations to sign U.S. and Roma midfielder Michael Bradley to join the team. According to a highly placed team source, that deal is in its final stages. If completed on schedule, Bradley would be introduced alongside Defoe on Jan. 13.

I really hope we don't have to let go of Laba. Save us Allocation.

MLS and Toronto will find a way for Laba to stay, the league wants a good team in Toronto. It needs it at this point.
They will hopefully and quietly move things around to make Laba's deal work in Toronto.

I'm laughing with all these deals swirling around that TFC keeps releasing videos of people spitting in surprise.

Defoe, Gilberto and a return of De Rosario and TFC are gonna sell out again. Scoring was their problem. It won't be if they can pull off those first two names.
Still, I wish they could have somehow landed Lampard.I would have purchased seasons if they had.
Lampard would have been insane...from what I understood that was going to be a done deal until Mourinho came back to Stamford Bridge?

That's the one, and no matter how much you may hate the guy, you must admit he makes us better. Like extremely.

Re: Official Toronto FC Thread
Luke Wileman on TSN:
On Defoe
-$150000 per week
-First meeting a while ago
-TFC had Drake call Defoe on multiple occasions to persuade him to come here
-Flew his mother to Toronto and wine and dined her for a weekend
On Bradley
-TFC Looking to trade Laba to bring in Bradley
-Not as big a name in Canada, but a major move in the North American community
On TFC
-Leiweke a driving force in this TFC movement
-Only Toronto, LA, NY, Seattle have the financial capability to pull this off. Miami Heat of the MLS.
-Players coming in not only for performance, but branding as per Leiweke
-TFC will not break even for the next couple of years with the money they have spent. This is a hail mary to save the club. Leiweke believed if they didn't get it right, this would have been the end for TFC as we know it in Toronto.
On the breaking even end, note that TSN is investing a lot in the MLS. While TFC's books may be red, TSN will rake it in.

Responding to my other comment, Iirc Dero specifically said that he left because the organization was a mess. I guess new management changes things

Re: Official Toronto FC Thread
MLS Transfers has been told via a league source that within the past few hours that Roma were looking to only loan Bradley but Toronto FO scoffed. Pressure from Bradley's agent, Ron Waxman helped the deal go through.
