Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
It is so disgusting to watch MLS. As far as I know, LA was the champion of last year. So, they are the best team but I just watched their games and some of the first 11 players don't even know how to run on the pitch. Forget about passing, pressing etc.

Steven Lenhart has to be the biggest troll I've ever seen in any professional league. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't been punched out yet in his MLS career.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
ah ****, Alvaro Saborio out for 'several weeks' with a quad injury. RSL has an absolute **** record when Alvaro Saborio doesn't play. When he scores, RSL is 31-5-6, now thats a DP if I ever saw one. RSL just can't find the back of the net when he's not there and we saw it vs LA last week. I'm hoping these next few weeks aren't to rough on us. His absence means more playing time for our young guys Devon Sandoval and Olmes Garcia, who have both have had good showings in their limited time on the pitch.

Yup, what Portland did was truly amazing.
That's what sports should be about.

Toronto FC's season looks to be over already.
This team is cursed, why do I even watch? The good moments are too few and far between.

Juan Agudelo just got traded from Chivas USA to NE Revolution. For a kid with all the hype he's gotten, he's already turned into a MLS journeyman.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Apparently, his contract is up at the end of the season, and is already talking about DP money next year. Just not worth it, Revs pretty much just renting him for the rest of the season. They needed to do something as they have a league worst 4 goals in 8 matches.

HUGE NEWS IN MLS
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2 ... y-football
After three years laying the groundwork for a second team in New York, Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber announced on Tuesday that English Premier League powerhouse Manchester City FC and Major League Baseball's legendary New York Yankees have teamed up to bring it to fruition and acquire MLS's 20th expansion club.
The new team will be named New York City Football Club (NYCFC) and is expected to begin play in 2015.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
I'm guessing the Red Bulls are making a lot of money off this team because that franchise is screwed.
The NYRB have issues attracting fans already, I don't see how a second franchise helps.

Honestly didnt know the MLS have 19 teams, I think I know all of the teams but the number seems like a lot. They have been expanding like crazy.

I thought they've actually been very methodical with expansion

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
The Sounders-Whitecaps game apparently drew more than 53,000 fans today... That's so ridiculous, it's like a USMNT type turnout.

Awesome for the game here in North America.
It's the reason why MLS will only get bigger and bigger over the next 20 years. the untapped market in North America is a soccer gold mine.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
US Open Cup is crazy, might now be the most attractive soccer, but its **** entertaining. RSL going into extra time after almost getting upset by the Charleston Battery.
