and then TFC would go up against Seattle in the likely debut of Dempsey. I hope the streak continues.

So many great matchups this weekend, especially in the western conference.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
The MLS website has been dropping them most weeks in their "Power Rankings" but after last night Montreal should once again be near the top.
Unbelievable performance.

Yup, Orlando sounds like pretty much a lock for an MLS franchise.
Not sure about 2015, but it's likely coming soon. My guess is 2016 or 17'.

I think Orlando and Miami are both on the short list for MLS expansion.

Portland Timbers vs. Seattle Sounders on ESPN 2 right now...a rivalry game that the entire league should be jealous of.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Watching the atmosphere there is pretty incredible, but the game itself was underwhelming. Sucks Portland couldn't be a full strength, would have loved to seen Chara and Johnson in their mid, i bet they could have won.

New York passed by Montreal tonight.
The final race should be fun in both the East and West.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
MLS regular season is in the home stretch and the Supporters Shield race is looking more clear every week.

Seattle with 2 games on hand to RSL and NYRB makes them clear favorites. Last night they tied with NYRB, great result for RSL, who I still believe can win this thing

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
The race in the west is pretty great this year. Seattle, RSL, and Portland are all capable of winning an MLS Cup...but I think the most appealing part of the three team race is the fact that Portland and Seattle are Cascadia Cup rivals. I think having fierce rivals battling for a top spot in the conference is probably one of the best chances MLS has for increasing the popularity of the sport here in the US.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Tuesday night, I've been waiting for this day to come for weeks!

It'll be on GolTV(sigh) but I'm sure you'll be able to find a link to watch it somewhere, maybe US Soccer will provide a stream. Winner gets a berth in the 2014-2015 CONCACAF Champions League.
I invite you all to watch it! 9pm EST

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Dempsey wasn't called up the National team because of injury, yet Sigi has confirmed that he we will be starting for the Sounders tomorrow. Its looks like Omar Gonzales is doing the same thing for the Galaxy. LAME, these two teams need to lose!

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Important Cascadia Cup matchup tonight. Seattle vs. Vancouver. This will likely decide the winner. If Seattle wins or draws, they will reclaim the cup. If Vancouver wins, they take a 2 point lead over Seattle, and the Sounders would have to come away with a win against Portland at Jeld-Wen field on Sunday. Portland has already been eliminated.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
If Vancouver wins, I would suggest that everyone watch Sunday's Portland-Seattle game. The fiercest rivalry in all of MLS, played at the most hostile venue in MLS, with the Cascadia Cup on the line. That game would be epic.
