Larin wasn't that good anyway.

One dimensional player. If he scores he adds value, and he's effective in traffic, but as a skilled player he isn't very good.

I never saw him as a Premier League type of player. His overall skill set isn't that good.

The team has been making a flurry of moves in the last week or 2:

-Larin transfer (heard we got like $2.5M)
-Signing Justin Meram (I like him, terrific signing)
-Signing Sasha (good short term signing, proven player, hope he still has a lot in the tank)
-drafted Cam Lindley
-Signed Oriol Rosell (defensive player from Spain, I have no idea who he is)

It was time to revamp the roster.

When you see the team speed and skill sets that Atlanta put together in their inaugural season, then watch OCSC in their third year ....
Plodding along with a woefully slow team that lacked consistency with the skill sets of everyone on the team.

It really is embarrassing that Atlanta was able to put together such a fantastic team in their first year meanwhile this team has gotten worse every year. They need to turn it around this year, as Atlanta has shown there is no excuse. BTW Atlanta put that team together with our old GM.....terrible decision by ownership to demote him (which lead him to quitting) and bringing in the Portuguese GM that never even showed up. Terrible way to run a team, amateurs.

From a franchise ownership group that did nearly everything perfect the first year plus, to facing reality that that same ownership group has run things poorly since.

The burning of the bridges with PR and AH will take a long time to recover from. Especially when the team isn't good at all.

Orlando City SC Acquires Defender Lamine Sané from SV Werder Bremen

Orlando City SC acquires defender Lamine Sané from German Bundesliga side SV Werder Bremen, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

“Lamine will significantly strengthen our back line,” General Manager Niki Budalic said. “He brings tremendous experience at the highest levels of European football and we believe he will fit right in with what we’re trying to build in Orlando.”

Sané, 30, joins the Lions after registering over 270 appearances in European top-flight leagues. The center back, who can also play as a holding midfielder, spent the past two seasons with Werder Bremen. Sané made 38 Bundesliga appearances in 2016-17 and 2017-18, scoring two goals and one assist. Sané also made two appearances in the German Cup, DFB-Pokal, in 2016 and 2017.

Prior to joining Werder Bremen, Sané played seven seasons for FC Girondins Bordeaux, making 188 appearances in the French Ligue 1 between 2009 and 2016. Sané also made six appearances in the 2009-10 UEFA Champions League and 17 appearances in the UEFA Europa League between 2009 and 2016. Sané also made 14 appearances in the Coupe the France, including five key appearances to help Bordeaux conquer the 2012/13 French cup.

Happy to hear we brought in a guy from the German league, much better talent there than some of the leagues they've been getting talent. Don't know anything about this guy but I like the experience factor and I like they said "holding midfielder", the lack of it has probably been the major reason our defense has been so porous.

Huge upgrade to our defense if he can stay out of trouble.

I was reading he had issues with his last club. He was “sick” but he wasn’t excused by the club.

Yep. Hopefully he has had an attitude check. Don't know the specifics, but apparently has not been the best locker room guy.

2 years and an option on his deal so he should be around a while. Prosoccerusa ran an article today about how the vets are being more involved with new players to build a better culture.

Aja traded to Vancouver for TAM money, $125k. Not suprised, he was terrible after a good start to his OC career.

Dywer will be out for the opener due to an injury.

Oh and looks like Sasha will be suspended for game 1 dating back from an issue last year. Don't expect too much for the opener.

Preseason rankings have the Lions at #8 due to all the off-season moves. Frankly, way too high.
