That's a pretty narrow view to have. Though they may struggle without him, they still have MLS leading scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips.
27 goals last season, can he repeat that?

i was a red bull season ticket holder ( didnt renew this year ) ( i live walking distance from the stadium )

Honestly, losing Petke this offseason was a bigger loss than Henry. I can see why many NYRB supporters would drop their season tickets after Petke's firing. Dumb move from the FO there.

I agree 100%.
That was a terrible move, and you could see fans turn their backs right away after the firing.
I wonder how many will jump ship to follow NYCFC instead?

I hated the Petke firing as well, but I'm a fan of the team and if we win, all is forgiven.
I think they are going to have a nice year. I just want to beat NYCFC. I have a totally irrational hatred of them. I can't stand that it is Man City's little toy club with the same jerseys.
Can't wait for the season to start!!

I love the creation of an MLS forum!!
Great idea, I got lost in all the different threads on the general board.

I don't think the Red Bulls will have much trouble this season being better than NYCFC, but I can understand where the hatred comes from.
Dividing the city in two may end up pretty interesting though. I can't wait for their first game against each other.

New York Red Bulls sign Canadian international Karl OuimetteKarl Ouimette has found a new home.
The 22-year-old defender from Quebec will be moving to New York after a successful two-week trial earned him a contract with the Red Bulls, a source close to deal told Goal Canada.
A product of the Montreal Impact youth academy, Ouimette rejoins coach Jesse Marsch, who coached the Impact in 2012 and was the one who elevated Ouimette to the first team.
Ouimette was waived by the Impact on Feb. 6.

so they've lost Cahill and Henry, and fired Petke. It's like an invitation for New Yorkers to switch to NYCFC. I like to believe they have a plan to get some big name player but I doubt it
